Dorothy Wood

Dorothy K. Wood, 84, of South haven, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Country Side Nursing and Rehabilitation Community of South Haven. Dorothy was born on June 7, 1928 in Ambel, Michigan, the daughter of Arnold and Blanche Kuzee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dr. Lewis C. Wood, her son Alan G. Wood, her sister Geniveve wood, and two brothers Henry and Melvin Kuzee. Dorothy is survived by her children, Katherine Kussy of South Haven and William (Deanna) Wood of South Haven, her Daughter-in-law Julie Wood of South Haven, and grandson A.J. Wood of South Haven.
For many years Dorothy was a stay at home mom, a Girl Scout leader, and a member of the church choir. After moving to South Haven in 1966 Dorothy worked for the Covert Public Schools and Herald Palladium until her retirement. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church U.C.C. of South Haven. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, Broadway musicals, and spending winters in Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will be missed by many.
Memorial services will take place at the First Congregational Church on Friday, June 22, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. A private burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
