Thomas Ronald's Obituary
Tom Guerne died Friday, May 18, 2012 of multiple myeloma. Born December 3, 1929 to Charles and Daisy Guerne in Muskegon Michigan. Tom graduated from Muskegon High School, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University.
Tom was in the US Air Force for 4 years, and taught mathematics for 34 years in Bellevue, Washington, Kalamazoo, Michigan and taught evening classes at Kalamazoo Valley Community College after retiring from the public schools.
He is survived by his long time life partner Lynn Lyon as well as by his wonderful daughters Susan (Greg) Hendricks, Grand Haven, Jennifer (Rick Kieferndorf) Guerne, Switzerland and Caroline (John) Urbain Traverse City and his sister Ferrill Arnson, Kalamazoo. His five grandsons, two granddaughters, and three great grand children will sorely miss their Grandpa Guerne. Tom was preceded in death by brothers Orville and Charles Guerne. Special appreciation goes to Pebbles Lyon who with loving care was Tom’s primary care giver.
Tom was a supporting member of the Bangor/South Haven Water Trail Association, Historical Association of South Haven,
SHOUT for South Haven Inc and The South Haven Scott Club.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be observed on July 28th at the South Haven Scott Club. Memorials may be directed to the South Haven Scott Club or South Haven Hospice in the Home. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
