A very special lady with her many talents is without question a lovely person. For many years we have been close friends with Kathleen, her husband and nephew Charles. She is surely in God's arms.

40 years ago this very kind lady was helping us in the library. Think of all of the children who were touched by Mrs. Onofrio!

Katy was one of the first people I met in South Haven when I moved here in 1974. We had many discussions about books, children and life over the library counter! Katy's smile and her warmth in welcoming someone new to town will never be forgotten.~

I loved seeing Jim and Katie every morning at the bakery. Jim would turn to look for Katie and say, "I've lost my bride." Katie was as kind as could be and I miss them both. It is a great reunion in heaven for them. Jim has his bride once again.

Kathleen and Jim, and Kathleen's mother, Alice, were great neighbors of ours when we were growing up. Their home had a wonderful front porch, a big side yard, and a paved driveway that we used for rollerskating. I have a lot of good memories of Kathleen and her mother, and Jim.

I remember Mrs. Onofrio from when, as a child, I visited the library every Saturday morning. She showed me the many wonders and paths of aisle after aisle of books of all kinds. I am still an avid reader! When I'm in South Haven, which isn't often anymore, I think of Mrs. Onofrio and her majestic library filled with adventure! She will be missed! Mary Guigue Johnson

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of our dear friend Katie Onofrio. She and her husband came into my father's dental office for years; they were both so very nice and pleasant. Mrs. Onofrio taught so many people so many things throughout her career. Now she is in heaven with her beloved husband. May they enjoy eternity together. Rest in peace, you will be missed quite a bit by every life you touched. Bless your life forever.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the Onofrio family. I remember Mary Kathleen coming to our ball games and in the library some time ago. She will be missed but not forgotten.

What a joyous obit! What a beautiful picture of Mrs. Onofrio! My many encounters with her during my youth were so pleasant! My parents would drop me off while they did weekly shopping and I loved that time at the library! She was just lovely.
