Margarette A.'s Obituary
Margarette McCloughan, 86, of Bangor died Tuesday, September 6 at home.
She was born August 24, 1925 in Opelika, Texas to James and Geneva (Corley) Watson. Margarette married Oliver “Scotty” McCloughan on November 15, 1942 in South Haven, Michigan. She worked at Bohn Aluminum for 30 years retiring in 1985. Margarette was a member of the Bangor Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her Southern Fried Chicken and homemade pies.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Scotty McCloughan who died in 1991.
She is survived by three sons – Mike McCloughan and his wife Gail of Portage, Michigan, Jim McCloughan and his wife Cheri of South Haven, Michigan and Tom McCloughan of Douglas, Michigan. Eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive. She loved her family, her church and her friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 on Thursday, September 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Stout officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Bangor Free Methodist Church.
