Kathleen Brumbaugh

Kathleen Rumiez Brumbaugh, 56, of South Haven died Thursday, April 7 at home.

She was born October 6, 1954 in South Haven, Michigan to Anthony “Tony” and Jean Edna (Adkin) Rumiez. Kathleen graduated from South Haven High School in 1973. She then graduated from Western Michigan University with degrees in Earth Science and Environmental Science, and then received her Masters Degree in Science Education. Kathleen married Brian Brumbaugh on May 22, 1982
Kathleen worked as a school teacher starting at Lincoln Elementary School, and in 1994 she went to Baseline Middle School to teach 6th grade science. Kathleen was a passionate educator, wife and mother who also spent many hours in the flower garden with her friends. Kathleen was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband Brian Brumbaugh of South Haven, Michigan and two sons – Colin Brumbaugh of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Seth Brumbaugh of South Haven, Michigan. Two brothers – Dan Rumiez of Versailles, Missouri and David (Chris) Rumiez of Orlando, Florida also survive, She will be dearly missed by a large, loving family.the First Baptist Church

Visitation will be Thursday, April 14 from 6 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating.
