Ruth Hazel's Obituary
Ruth Hazel Couturier, 63, of South Haven died Wednesday, March 16, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born March 8, 1948 in Allegan, Michigan to Donald and Myrtle (Weland) Beiter. Ruth graduated from Bangor High School in 1966. She married Gerald Wayne Couturier Sr. on December 16, 1994 in South Haven. Ruth worked at Save-A-Lot for 6 years and Phoenix Country Market for 4 years. Ruth loved to garden and fish. She also enjoyed NASCAR.
She is preceded in death by her father – Donald Beiter who died in 2006.
She is survived by her husband – Gerald Wayne Couturier Sr. of South Haven, Michigan. One son – Gerald Wayne Couturier Jr. of South Haven, Michigan, and two daughters – Amy Lynn Edwards of Bangor, Michigan and Jennifer Sue Couturier of Grand Junction, Michigan. Six grandchildren – Breanna Edwards, Alexis Edwards, Dale (Bo) Edwards III, Makayla Edwards, Brayden T. Couturier, and Keagon W. Couturier. Her mother – Myrtle Beiter of South Haven, Michigan. One sister – Sharon (Dennis) Doebler of Lindenhurst, Illinois also survives.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18 from 11 – 1 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Friday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Kuenzli officiating. Burial will take place at Hoppin Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
