Phillip's Obituary
Phillip A.D. Keath, 61, of South Haven died Wednesday, March 2nd at Watervliet Community Hospital.
He was born October 4, 1949 in Coloma, Michigan to Doris and Eunice Keath. Phillip graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Phillip was a Vietnam Veteran. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and the Marines for over 20 years. Phillip then worked for the State of Michigan in Veterans Administration for the past 18 years out of the Paw Paw and South Haven offices. He married Jaleen Klein on January 1, 2006. Phillip was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in South Haven. Phillip was a life member of Benton Harbor’s VFW, American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose in South Haven. Phillip was a kind hearted person and a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was always their to help someone in need.
He is preceded in death by his father – Doris A.D. Keath. Brother – Roger Wayne Keath and two brother-in-laws, Elmer Flener and Bob VanHorn.
He is survived by his wife – Jaleen Keath of South Haven, Michigan. One son – Erick (Erika) Klein of Pullman, Michigan. Two daughters – Rachel (Mike) Tovar of Grand Junction, Michigan and Stephanie (Ed Soto) Klein of Holland, Michigan. Six grandchildren – Molly, Zackary Klein & Michael, Kody & Cali Tovar, and Elijah Soto. His mother – Eunice (Herman) VanHorn. One brother – David (Linda) Haase. Three sisters – Patty Flener, Pam (Ed) and Diane VanHorn. Also many nieces and nephews survive.
Visitation will be Monday, March 7 from 5 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:00 P.M. at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Linstrom officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made the family.
