Erdmann "Boots"'s Obituary
Erdmann “Boots” E. Haase, 92, of South Haven died Thursday, October 28 at home.
He was born October 18, 1918 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan to Rev. Martin A. and Carolyn (Pfeiffer) Haase. Boots served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and received a Silver Star and four Bronze Stars. Boots was the warehouse manager at Niff’s Beverage retiring in 1984. Boots was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served as church treasurer for over 30 years. Boots loved to do yard work. Boots was a avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by His brother – Walter Haase who died in 1984.
He is survived by his three sisters – Martha (John) Schnake, Edna Schlaack both of South Haven, Michigan and Lois Curley of Hacienda Hts., California.
Visitation will be from 6-8 on Tuesday, November 2 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Clint Rogas officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or school or to South Haven’s Hospice at Home.
