Verna Mae's Obituary

Verna Mae Anthony, 75, of South Haven died Thursday, September 16 at home.

She was born March 15, 1935 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Elmer and Pearl (Bohanan) Gulley. Verna worked as a housekeeper for Kewadin Casino in St. Ignace for many years retiring in 2000. Verna loved bird watching particularly humming birds. She also enjoyed watching western movies and taking care of her Amaryllis plant.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Donald Anthony.

She is survived by her three children – Connie (Ken) Bulliss of South Haven, John (Marianne) Pensinger of Charlevoix, Michigan and George Pensinger of South Haven. Four grandchildren – Amanda (Kevin Thompson) Morgan, Angela (Eric) Smith, Holly (Allan) McCoy, and Heidi Pensinger. Two great grandchildren. One sister – Judy (Joseph) Novak of Stevensville, Michigan. Her special care giver – Evelyn Sanders also survives.

Visitation will be Monday, September 20 from 5 – 6 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin Monday at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
