Charles "Chuck" Barnes

Charles “Chuck” Glenn Barnes, 69, of Adrian, formerly of South Haven, died Tuesday, March 23 at Lynwood Manor Nursing Home in Adrian, Michigan.
He was born December 26, 1940 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan to Glenn and Margaret (Green) Barnes. Chuck received his Bachelors Degree from Northern Michigan University. Chuck was an art teacher for the South Haven Public Schools from 1967 – 1970. He also taught for the Coloma Public Schools from 1970 – 1990. During the summers, Chuck worked for Van Buren State Park. Chuck was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church and was a member of the First Baptist Church of South Haven. He enjoyed camping, playing guitar and being happy.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his two children - Jennifer (Milan) Bittenbender of Adrian, Michigan and Jason (Nancy) Barnes of South Haven, Michigan. Four grandchildren – Milan, Josiah and Benjamin Bittenbender, and Sydney Barnes. One brother – Robert W. (Ruth) Barnes of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Two sisters – Priscilla Campbell of Big Rapids, Michigan and Ruth (Bob) Beecroft of Foley, Alabama.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 3 at 1:30 p. m. at the First Baptist Church of South Haven with Pastor Dale Byers officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery.
