Cornelia C. Jorgenson

Cornelia Catherine Jorgenson, 92, of South Haven died Tuesday, March 23 at home.

She was born June 7, 1917 in South Haven, Michigan to Cornelius and Luella (Finch) Bus. Cornelia married James H. Jorgenson on June 12, 1937 in South Haven, Michigan. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1932. Cornelia worked for General Telephone for 33 years as an operator and a clerk. Cornelia loved to knit and crochet and belonged to a knitting club. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church and the South Haven Scott Club. Cornelia volunteered at the South Haven Community Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James Jorgenson who died in 1989 and her brother – Charles Bus also precedes her.

She is survived by Two daughters – Mary Lou (Larry) Heinig of Lansing, Michigan and Carol (Joel) Brosk of Chicago, Illinois. Four grandchildren – David and Randy Heinig and Daniel and Jonathan Brosk. Five great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be from 11:30 – 1:00 on Friday, March 26 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Curry Pikkaart officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Hospice at Home, South Haven Hospital Auxiliary or Hope Reformed Church.
