I will never forget the first time I met Ken and Naxie when we purchased our new home next door to them. Later we met Jeanette and we all slowly began a lifelong friendship. Jeanette passed away in 2004, my mother in 2008, and now Ken. I sincerely hope they are all together now in Heaven. May God bless Naxie for all she has done for all of them. I will always have a place in my heart for Ken. Naxie will forever remain one of my dearest friends. Yours truly, Jeff, Roger, and Karin.

I was speechless when I read yesterday of Mr Holland's passing; that last fall did it. But I rejoice that now he is no longer in pain, no longer in need of dialysis, no longer saddled by this world's angst. Rest in peace, my friend. My condolences to all who will miss him.

My prayers are with the Holland family. Mr. Holland was the person who taught myself, and my brothers our class before we were baptized when we were children. I remebered having so many questions. He answered every one. I still have that bible which I received after being baptized. Now Mr. & Mrs. Holland, Mr. & Mrs. Crook, and Rev. Stokes and Mrs. Stokes will be together again. What a reunion that will be.

I was so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Although I did not know him for a long time I realized he was a man of substance. I enjoyed hearing his stories of South Haven. Meryl Greene

I will truly miss Brother Holland. My family and I were members at Emmanuel Community Church for 16 years, and during those years he made a great impact in our lives. He was always concern about how everyone in the family was doing. When asked how he was, he never complained, it was always “I’m going just fine”. If you ever had shock hands with Brother Holland, you would have thought he was a member of the tough man contests, because of his grip. He will forever be in our hearts. The Givhan-Solis Family

A stranger in need found a friend in deed. That expresses the type of person Mr. Holland was to the May family on their arrival in South Haven in 1953. It was this friend's assistance that began the career of Anthony May at Bohn Aluminum. Through the years, we observed his work on the job, in the community and at his Church. He was a very devoted and accommodating person. We express our sympathy and love to the family for another soldier has gone to get his reward. Remembering the words of Paul in II Timothy 4:6-7, "For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith". We love you Naxie, Kenneth and all the Family. Anthony & Rosa May South Haven
