Robert's Obituary
Robert “Buddy” Rendell, 60, of Covert died Tuesday, July 14 at South Haven Community Hospital.
He was born November 5, 1948 in South Haven, Michigan to Edwin B. (Ted) and Norma (Mull) Rendell. Buddy graduated from Covert High School in 1967. Bud worked as a firefighter and paramedic for the Covert Township Fire and Rescue for over 15 years retiring because of disabilities in 2000. Prior to that he owned and operated Forest Dunes Grocery in Covert. Bud was an avid outdoorsman and loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Bud loved to walk the Lake Michigan beach and collect beach glass. Buddy was a great friend to many and was never judgmental. He gave generously and unconditionally of his tremendous heart to many.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his sister – Dorlane (Tyke) Summers.
He is survived by two daughters – Jamie Weiss of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Jessica (Josh) Gignac of Fenton, Michigan. Three grandchildren – Joslyn Gignac, Janell Weiss and Stephon Weiss. One brother – Ken (Cindy) Rendell of Lundonderry, New Hampshire and nieces and nephews.
A party in celebration of Buddy’s life will take place on Saturday, September 12 at 5:00 P.M. at the Dune Lake, 80739 CR 376, Covert, MI.
