Ah Bud...I'm so glad that you and Barb and Ken and I were able to get together in Florida this past April. Getting up early, drinking coffee or coke :). Smoking our smokes and having lots to laugh and talk about. You know Bud, we talked on the phone a couple of times a week...I cherish those times. We always laughed didn't we. You and Ken have been in my life since I was 14 years old...met at Covert Park when I was camping with Barb and her family. Ken and I married, then you and Barb married. Best friends marrying brothers...and in the end as the circle turned, we were all best friends still. Nothing can ever compare to the closeness of our friendships. We are all Rendell's and always will be. Thank you for leaning on me, it has truly been an honor. Thank you for allowing me to lean on you. I will miss you my dear Bud. Always, cindy

Nothing I say can describe the wonderful, special, Buddy Rendell. You will always be in my heart and it is hard to accept that you have passed on to a better place. No more nightly phone calls; but I will Always be able to hear your laugh. From 14 to 57 years old, you were a part of my life. My friends were so happy to hear that we were "seeing each other again". Reunited with the love of my life - what more could anyone ask for. I regret the years spent without you by my side - but cherish the years we were together. Although we were often thousands of miles apart - every night we had our phone time. We got each other through the good days and bad days. Your voice and outlook on life will always be in my head. You will guide me through the rest of this life, until I see you again. My prayers go out to all who loved Buddy. Tis better that we deal with broken hearts and Buddy is free of pain. When he had to retire, the Covert Fire Dept. lost one of the best men they every had. Now we are all surviving a loss; but along with the people he saved while on the job..... We are all lucky to have known him. With love and respect forever, Barbara Rendell

Bud Rendell will be greatly missed by all of us at Covert Fire Department. It was an honor to serve with someone who cared so deeply for his home town and its residents. He will be remembered for his generous heart, positive outlook on life, and willingness to help those in need. We will be creating a suitable memorial to Bud here at the fire station. Here is to a life well lived. God bless you Bud.

I met whith Buddy last winter in fla and the thing that I remember most is when he told all that his friends had done to help him when he was sick, then I realized that anyone Bud ever new was his friend.

I had the opportunity to meet Buddy a few years back when he came to Florida. He immediately blew me away with his genuineness, great outlook on life and kind and gentle spirit. I had heard much about him from Barbara before meeting him in person but it was not until meeting him, that I fully realized just how wonderful of a man and person he was. I give my condolences to all his family and friends, and know that this Earth will just not be the same without him. Buddy was someone that was easy to like and that will never be forgotten. As a boy growing up in Linden Hills in Covert Township, I have fond memories of Buddy and the corner store he ran for many years. What a magical and kind human being. It was almost a daily visit to see him for an ice cold coke or some candy. There were some particularly entertaining stories from him, including one in which he was shot in the knee with an arrow by I think one of his brothers. I can still see his smiling laughing face as if it were yesterday. Peace and Love to all he touched in his journey through this world. The world is a better place for having his presence.
