Doohoon's Obituary
Doohoon Hyun, 62, of South Haven died Monday, June 8, 2009 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born November 14, 1946 in Seoul, Korea. Doohoon married Rebecca Donohoe on August 13, 1969 in Iowa City, Iowa. Doohoon earned his bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Iowa where he also attended Radiographic Technology School and Medical School. He worked as a Radiology Tech, Ultra Sound Tech and Department Head at South Haven Community Hospital for over 30 years retiring in 1999.
Doohoon enjoyed gardening, painting, and woodworking three of his favorite pastimes. You can find many of his paintings at South Haven Community Hospital and Mayo Clinic. He loved his 6 grandchildren and enjoyed the many sporting events they participated in.
He is survived by his wife – Rebecca Hyun of South Haven, Michigan. One son – Eric (Julie) Hyun of St. Joseph, Michigan. Two daughters – Kim Jensen of South Haven, Michigan and Kris (Jason) Deja of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Six grandchildren – Dylan Hyun, Ryan Shimanek, Conner Shimanek, Parker Jensen, Meghan Hyun and Lily Deja.
Private family services were held Saturday, June 13, at Lakeview Cemetery, South Haven with Laurie Timmer officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven’s Hospice at Home. Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at www.FilbrandtFFH.com.
