Nelda Ann's Obituary
Nelda Ann Rice, 65, of South Haven died Thursday, January 15 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
She was born July 11, 1943 in South Haven, Michigan to Robert Allen and Phyllis Althea (Gould) Pensinger. Nelda worked as a care giver for adult foster care.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Jack Rice who died in 2006. One sister – Andrea Coffey also precedes her.
She is survived by her children – Robert (Gina) Johnson of South Haven, Michigan, Kevin (Janet) Johnson of Hopkins, Michigan, Obie (Cindy) Johnson of Wyoming, Michigan, Melissa (James) Middleton of South Haven, Michigan, Mark (Wendy) Johnson of Grand Junction, Michigan, Phillip (Kelly) Woodcox of Melvin, Michigan, Donna (John) Zak of Dearborn, Michigan, and Barbara (Don) Martin of Rochester Hills, Michigan. 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 6 sisters – Betty (Denny) Duncan Herrera of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dott (Richard) Washagesic of South Haven, Michigan, Robin Vaughn(Robert) Klingenburg of Allegan, Michigan, Becky Roberts and Carla (Joe) Cagle both of South Haven, Michigan and best friend Judy Martin.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 24 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lacota United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society at 5110 S. Sprinkle Rd.
