Marie Rosson's Obituary
Marie Rosson Dissette, 90, of South Haven died Monday, December 1 at home.
She was born March 19, 1918 in South Haven, Michigan to Andrew and Lillian (Mileham) Lauman. Marie married James Dissette Sr. Marie worked as a teacher and started teaching at the Lafler School between South Haven and Breedsville. After marriage, she returned to teaching and was employed by the Van Buren Intermediate School District as a reading teacher here in South Haven. Marie was a part of the formation of the Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum in South Haven. She served in various capacities on that board for over thirty years. Marie was a member of the First Congregational Church andThe South Haven Scott Club.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – James Dissette Sr. who died in 2005.
She is survived by her son – James (Glenna) Dissette Jr. and daughter – Anne (Joe) Long both of South Haven, Michigan. 4 grandchildren – Beth (Ed) Morse, Brian (Kelly) Dissette, Christopher French and Tim French. 3 great grandchildren – Megan and Charlie Morse and Carson Dissette.
Visitation will be Friday, December 5 from 6-8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church UCC with Rev. Jeffrey S.
