Sylvia J.'s Obituary
Sylvia J. Hills, 74, of South Haven died Tuesday, October 14 at home.
She was born April 2, 1934 in Melrose, Illinois to Frederick and Grace ( Roderick ) Fenton. Sylvia married Hiram “Ham” Hills on August 16, 1952 in South Haven, Michigan. Sylvia worked for 25 years as a teachers aid at Lincoln Elementary School in South Haven. Sylvia was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Haven.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband – Hiram “Ham” Hills of South Haven, Michigan. Two daughters – Gwen Hills of Bangor, Michigan and Beth Hills of South Haven, Michigan. Two grandchildren – Joseph Montgomery and Jennifer Rowland both of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Four Great Grandchildren. One brother – Frederick (Chantal) Fenton of Pensacola, Florida and sister – Carol Kelley of Charleston, South Carolina.
Visitation will be Friday, October 17 from 5 – 8 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Linstrom and Rev. Raymond Bartels officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Hospice at Home or Peace Lutheran Church.
