My heart is breaking, yet I'm so glad Sylvia is at peace and with the Lord. The last few months have been so hard on her and all the family. May God give you peace, too.

Ham, Gwen and Beth- We were so sorry to hear about your wife and mother. We were blessed to have gotten to know her when Andrew and Daniel were in Headstart so many years ago. She was a wonderful woman who we enjoyed seeing around town. She was a positive influence on many children in our area. May God give you strength to face the days ahead. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Diane and Barry

Sylvia and I were school classmates at SHHS from junior high thru senior high -- we graduated together in 1952. We were all part of a large group of kids that had all the fun that school kids are supposed to have. We were in a few of the school's organized activites together but more importantly to us (then) were the social activities such as house parties. There wasn't much contact after school, though, and that was my loss. I remember Sylvia always being a cheerful and upbeat personality and totally likeable. In recent years, we had a few phone conversations but that's about all ... again, my loss. I was sorry to hear of her passing although we had been alerted to the expectation. My sympathy goes out to Ham and all of Sylvia's family and her many friends.

Gwen, i am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. she was a sweet lady. Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. -Author Unknown

The Hills family I am so very sorry to read about the loss of Miss Sylvia. She was a fantastic woman and I have such fond memories of your family from the very young age thru her being Courtney's teachers aid in kindergarden and now our Courtney is a mother herself. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this trying time. May the peace of the Lord be with each of you. Your wife/mother left a lasting legacy in South Haven for you all to be proud of. Cherish her memories.

Gram I miss you so much. Its been almost 2 years since you've been gone and I miss you more than ever. You were the best grandma anyone could ever ask for. You were always there for me. And I appreciate everything you and Gramps have ever done for me and my family. I can't wait to see you again some day. Now Gramps is with you, take care of him for me. Give him a big hug and tell him his chicky misses him. I'll love you always and forever
