Stefan's Obituary
Stefan (Steve) Richard Bild, 88, of South Haven died Thursday, May 24 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
He was born February 23, 1919 in South Haven, Michigan to Jacob and Susan (Billo) Bild. Stefan graduated from South Haven High School in 1936. Stefan married Carol Klipp on January 4, 1942 in South Haven, MI. Stefan served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army serving in Tunisia, Naples, and the Argon. He worked at Everett Piano Company for 25 years and part time at the A& P Food Store for several years. Stefan enjoyed golf, gardening, landscaping and just being outdoors.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his son – James R. Bild. One grandson – Robert W. Bild. All his brothers and sisters – William Bild, Larry Bild, Elizabeth Mann, Helen Conroy, Fred Bild, Susan Doerr, Frank Bild and Peter Bild also precede him.
He is survived by his wife – Carol Bild of South Haven, Michigan. Son – Robert (Sandra) Bild of Tallahassee, Florida and daughter Bonnie (Keith) White of Pompano Beach, Florida, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12 – 1 on Wednesday, May 30 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. Burial will take place at North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to South Haven Area Hospice.
