Ron's Obituary
Ron A. McKie Sr., 46 of Covert passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2006. He was born March 9, 1960 in Berrien Center, Michigan to Otis and Christine (Martin) McKie.
Ron was co-owner of McKie Tree for the past 17 years. Ron was a NASCAR fan. Ron was a race car driver and loved racing late model cars at Hartford, New Paris, Mottville, Kalamazoo, South Bend, and Plymouth Speedways. He also had a passion for motor cross bikes.
Ron is survived by his sons; Ron McKie Jr. of Covert, Michigan and Jeffrey (Tabitha) McKie of Panama City, Florida, Dakota McKie of Detroit, Michigan. His daughter: Daytona McKie of Detroit, Michigan and his parents; Otis and Christine McKie Sr. of Covert, Michigan and his former spouse Wendy McKie of Detroit, Michigan. Two grandchildren; Taylor and Ireland McKie of Covert, Michigan. His brothers; John (Linda) McKie of Ruskin, Florida, Otis (Julie) McKie Jr. of Covert, Michigan. His sisters; Rhonda (Carl) McCrary of Covert, Michigan and Lisa (Dan) Wells of St. Joseph, Michigan. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, September 25 from 5 – 8 P.M at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with funeral service on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Toni Kuenzli officiating. Burial will take place at Fish Cemetery in Covert, Michigan. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
