While I couldn't be there, I wanted to be sure and share how much I thought of Stan, a.k.a. Grumpy. I don't have any great stories to tell, though I am quite certain there are plenty involving him. I first met Stan probably 15-20 years ago and every time I saw him, whether in his home or elsewhere, he was always welcoming, kind and generous. He always treated me like an adult, even before I was one. I have nothing but fond memories of my time with Stan over the years.

Having grown up in South Haven I know that Mr. Adams was a well liked, very respected, and generous man. Here is a story about him that not many living people know. In the early 1950's Olson Brothers Construction Co. was building an addition to the building Standard Coil occupied in Bangor. Mr. Adams made a deal with my dad, Elmer Olson, that if the project was completed by a certain date my dad would receive a TV as a reward. The job was finished on time and much to the delight of my family, and a host of other kids, we had the first TV in the area. Our house on Superior street became a popular gathering place. My sister Charlotte, my brother Roger, and our families express condolences to the Adams family.

Chuck and Stan talked quite often. He was good friends with my dad Gunnar, and they all had a monthly lunch when they could meet. Sorry to hear of your loss. Barb
