Richard's Obituary
Richard Dean “Rick” Bailey, 65, of Douglas, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his home. He was born July 3, 1947 to Grover and Anita (Boyer) Bailey in Dayton, Ohio. Richard served his country in the Air Force from 1966 to 1970. Rick was an assistant city manager for Bloomington, Illinois for fifteen years until retiring in August of 2003. Rick was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Haven.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Richard is survived by his wife – Diane; children – Ryan (Stephanie) Bailey of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Jonathan (Sachiyo) Bailey of Chicago; Brothers – Robert Bailey of Chicago and Roger Bailey of Vandalia, Ohio; Brother-in-law - Larry Marek of Bear Lake, Michigan; granddaughter – Anna Bailey.
Visitation will take place Friday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 8 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home, 1076 S. Bailey Ave. South Haven, MI 49090. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 06321 Blue Star Hwy. South Haven, MI 49090 Rev. Robert Linstrom will officiate. Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution can do so to the church.
