We were so sorry to learn of Ella's passing! We knew Carl and Ella when I was the news director/anchor at WJIM-TV from l963 to l967 and Carl was chief engineer at the station. We had kept in touch with them over the years by the exchange of Christmas cards. Our deepest condolences to the family in this loss.
Sincerely,

My only mother-in-law Ella was a sweet and loving person who always was ready to share abundant love with her grandchildren. The kids all loved visiting Grandma and Grandpa Onken at "the lake" and they have many happy memories of those visits. She was always happy to receive visitors and she loved babies. She was a proper, lively lady who was blessed to enjoy living a truly great love story with her husband Carl. Condolences and love to Dana and all the family.

Dana and family,
Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Even though we have not seen each other in years. We remember the days when we were younger, back in Vincennes, Ind. and you were all, thought of often and have always been in our prayers.

My late wife Vicki who worked at WJIM for several years often remembered the times when she would be setting out by the pool talking to Ella.----Ella always seemed like a really nice gentle lady and they had some great conversations out there.--- I'm sure Ella will be missed.
