Gert Hadaway

Gert Hadaway, 75, of South Haven died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her home. She was born December 2, 1937 to George and Clara (Boes) Viening in Holland, Michigan. Gert worked at Hartman School for thirty years as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of Hope Reformed Church and worked there for twenty years.  Gert enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the trips to Mackinaw.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by two brothers – Ray and Randy Viening, and great grandson – Zachary Branson.

Gert is survived by her children – Dennis Hadaway, Cindy Winans, and Diane (Brian) Rigozzi all of South Haven; six grand children – Jami Branson, Jeremiah Branson , Jared Aleman, Lacey Jones, James Dotson and Brianna Rigozzi; ten great grandchildren; six brothers – Edward, Kenneth, Alvin, George, Terry, and Henry Viening; special friends – Joe and Alice Seiler of South Haven.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Hope Reformed Church in South Haven with Rev. Curry Pikkaart officiating. Contributions may be made in Gert’s memory to the Hope Reformed Church or PALS before and after school mentoring program. Gert will be laid to rest at the Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland.
