Kelly's Obituary
Kelly Simon, 52, of South Haven, died Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home. He was born March 12, 1961 to George and Penny Simon in Detroit. Kelly earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Architecture from Michigan State University. Kelly owned his own business and worked as a consultant in the sustainable forestry field. Kelly loved flying his Altra Light, loved to surf, and was enthusiastically involved in South Haven’s Boy Scout Troop 198.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Kelly is survived by his wife of 20 years – Allison Simon; son –Nicholas Simon of South Haven; four brothers – George Simon, Paul Simon, Christopher Simon, and Kevin Simon; five sisters – Marianne Shock, Sue Simon, Joanne Morrison, Diane Decreane, and Penny Suppes.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 17 at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church located in Grosse Pt. Farms, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kelly’s memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Kelly will be laid to rest at St. Paul on the Lake Columbarium.
