Gordon's Obituary

Gordon Guy Hoag, 92, of South Haven, died on June 10, 2013 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.  Gordon was born on August 1, 1920 to Ira and Lottie (Ingraham) Hoag in South Haven, Michigan. He graduated from South Haven High School in 1938. He served in the United States Army during WWII.  Gordon worked for Jensen’s Fishery for 43 years, as a Bridge Tender for the City of South Haven for 25 years and in his later years for D&W Grocery Store. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and going for rides by the beach and river.  He loved to cook, he was a Cubs fan and most of all enjoyed taking pictures with his camera he carried everywhere with him.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, his wife – Evelyn and two brothers – Howard Hoag and Floyd Hoag.

Gordon is survived by his children – Martha Sue (Carl) Braddum of Fennville, MI, Gregg Guy (Debra) Hoag of Lansing, MI and Laurie (Kevin) Bierhalter of South Haven, MI. Three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  One brother – Clyde (Joann) Hoag, South Haven, MI and one sister - Dorothy (Terry) McNeil of St. Joseph, MI.

Graveside service with military honors will be on Friday, June 14 at 11:00 am at Lakeview Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Deams officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Al Van Humane Society, PO Box 421, South Haven, MI. 49090 or American Legion Post #49, 129 Michigan Ave., South Haven, MI 49090.  Kindly share your thoughts and memories on the family’s online guest book at http://www.filbradtffh.com/">www.FilbradtFFH.com.
