Byron's Obituary
Pastor Byron Ross Hudson, 55 of Coloma, died on July 24, 2013 at the Hospice House in Holland after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1957 to I.D. and Barbara (Singleton) Hudson in Nashville, Tennessee. Byron earned his Master’s degree in 1983 from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan and was working on a doctorate in theology. Byron took a break from pastoring and his most recent employment was Dalson Enterprises in Buchanan, Michigan where he was a truss designer. Byron married Amy (Clayton) in Eau Claire, Michigan in 2004.
Byron’s hobbies were golf and fishing. He was a jokester, loved his family and always bragged about them. He also loved his dog, an Australian Shepherd, named Toby. Byron was passionate of the concept that it’s a relationship with Christ that matters most, engaging in religious discussions, spreading the gospel, and singing and playing his guitar.
Byron is survived by his wife - Amy; mother - Barbara of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; two daughters – Kate (Jeremy) Diehl of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Mindy (Seth) Kissinger of St. Joseph, Michigan; three brothers – Ivan (Lynda) Hudson of Ventura, California and Morris (Judy) Hudson of Sycamore, Illinois and Harlin (Vicki) Hudson of Lanesboro, Minnesota; three sisters – Patricia (Wolfgang) Grentz of Fayetteville, Georgia, Deniece (Barry) Mellor of Spring City, Tennessee and Dorothy (Pearo) Ackles of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
He is preceded in death by his father, I.D. Hudson in 1996.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday at the Hartford Seventh-day Adventist Church with Elder Doug Clayton officiating. Byron will be laid to rest at Fish Cemetery at a later date where he will wait to be awakened by his Savior on resurrection morning.
