Christopher's Obituary
Christopher "Chris" Emelander, 53, of South Haven died at home on August 27, 2013. He was born on June 10, 1960 to Gerrit and Delores (Bazan) Emelander in Grand Rapids, MI. Chris was employed by Boars Head Provisions Company, Inc. in Holland, Michigan where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hanging out with friends. Chris was a member of the American Pool Players Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Chris is survived by his wife - Kimberlie "Kimmie" Emelander of South Haven, MI, his children - Cody and Tucker Emelander both at home, and Jessica Creameans of Grand Junction, MI. His brothers - Jack (Marcee) Emelander of Middleville, MI, and David (Dawn) Emelander of Lowell, MI, His sisters - Janet (Gary) Austin of Jenison, MI, Connie (Jim) Knauss of Grandville, MI, Judy (Jerry) Pitch of Dorr, MI, and Melissa (Mitch) Raible of Hudsonville, MI. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29 from 5-9 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home and on Friday, August 30, from 1-2 PM with funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Monks Cemetery, Geneva Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
