Mary Elizabeth Martelli

Mary Elizabeth Martelli, 67, of South Haven, died Friday, January 3, 2014 at her home under Hospice care. She was born June 14, 1946 to Ward and Sarah (Overton) Hamlin in South Haven. Mary provided exceptional leadership, management & clinical care to healthcare systems; adults, children & newborns. During her career she worked as a bedside nurse; critical care nurse and senior manager at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Borgess Hospital; Saint Joseph Memorial Hospital, Rady Childrens Hospital of San Diego & South Haven Hospital. She was instrumental in improving the services & patient care of every place she worked. Mary was the consummate nurse "healer", providing care and advice to family, friends, co-workers & patients. Mary left footprints upon the hearts of all those she touched.

Mary is survived by her husband, Frank Martelli; two sons – Matthew Ward Martelli and Joshua Frank Martelli; daughter – Margaret Sarah Martelli; grandchildren – Chloe and Collin Martelli;  siblings – Steve Hamlin, Sally Householder, David Hamlin, Cathy Adkin, Terry Hamlin, Barbara Buneel, and Charlie Hamlin.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Basils Catholic Church on Friday, January 24th at 10am.
