James E. Carrier, Sr.

James E Carrier, Sr. entered the presence of the Lord he loved and served on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. After giving his life to Christ at the age of 28, the two most important thing in Jim's life were his wife and children and making certain that he share the Savior at every possible opportunity.  As a result, he leaves a legacy, not just in the lives of his family, but in the lives of those with whom he shared the joy and freedom that comes from knowing Jesus Christ.  Jim leaves behind a legacy of ministry, whether it was the years he spent sharing the gospel from the pulpit in the various churches he pastored, the churches he and Valda physically "built" while serving with Baptist Missionary Builders, or the many people he developed relationships with on a personal level. He is rejoicing today at the feet of Jesus along with those who have gone before.

 Jim was preceded in death by his first wife - Valda , his parents John and Carol Carrier, sister- Jayne and brother - Billy.

He is survived by his wife Dolores, sons - James Jr. (Marcia), Richard (Joyce) Carrier and daughter - Iva (Jef) Patterson, along with 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by brothers- Jack (Mary), George (Gaye) and Mike (Evie) Carrier, sister - Carol Roe, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastors Mark Congrove and Dale Byers officiating.  Burial will take place at Lee Township Cemetery, Pullman, Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church of South Haven, Gideon's International or Reverence Hospice Care of Borgess Health.
