John's Obituary
John Murphy Sr. age 46 of Bangor, Michigan died Friday, June 20. 2014 at his home. John was born January 14, 1968 in LaPorte, Indiana to Evetett and Brenda (Cummins) Murphy. John married Bessie Zink on August 22, 1992 in Breedville. John worked as a foreman at the Heinz Ketchup Factory in Holland for the past 19 years. He loved to go camping with family and loved to fish. John raised his own children but was considered a father, dad and mentor by many others.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Dominick Anthony Murphy and brothers, Jimmie Cummins and Sonny Cummins.
John is survived by his wife, Bessie Murphy. Two sons - Allen Murphy and Junior Murphy both of Bangor. Two daughters - Cassandra Murphy of Pullman and Ashley Murphy of Bangor. Two grandchildren - Jayden Phillips and Willie Murphy. Parents - Everett and Brenda Murphy of Bangor. Two brothers - Robert (Wendy) VanWy of Breedville and Andy (Laura) Murphy of Coloma. Three sisters - Candy (Frank) Fucsik of Crystal River, Florida; Linda (Art) Anna of North Richland Hills, Texas and Kim (Stacy) Gary of Bangor. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation and funeral will be on Tuesday, June 24 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Visiting time from 4 to 6:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 PM. Pastor Jeff Terry will officiate.
