Roland's Obituary
Roland A. Getman, 82, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home under Hospice care. He was born March 12, 1932 to Heman E. and Bessie L. (Gurd) Getman in Hope Township, Michigan. Following his graduation, Roland served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Dorothy Wagner on June 25, 1956 in Watervliet.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Gordon.
Roland is survived by his wife of 58 years – Dorothy Getman of South Haven; children – Douglas (Pam) and Roger Getman both of South Haven and Sally (Tom) Frank of Sarasota, FL; five grandchildren -Rilee, Laramie, Lindsay, Toni and Tasha; three great grandchildren - Christopher, Ellie and Haley; sister- Mary Getman.
The visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. There will be a luncheon at the South Haven Moose Lodge following the visitation. Roland will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Contributions in Roland's name may be made to South Haven Hospice at Home 05055 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
