Patrick Harry O'Brien

Patrick “Pat” Harry O’Brien, 64, of South Haven, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the South Haven Health System. He was born February 10, 1951 to Washington and Eleanore O’Brien in Benton Harbor. Pat worked as a truck driver for RTI Transport for over 20 years. He loved to fish and watch football, cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Pat was also a NASCAR enthusiast especially watching Dale Earnhardt. Pat enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets and spending time at his pond. Pat loved his family which included his grand dogs – Clyde, Ava, Dax, and Mia. Pat enjoyed arguing about politics with anyone that would listen.  Pat will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 

He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother – Thomas W. O’Brien and nephew – Matthew O’Brien.

Pat is survived by his children – Jennifer Hinz of South Haven and Sean (Nicole) O’Brien of Coloma; grandchildren – Jordan Hinz, Emma, Cassie and Sean Paul O’Brien; siblings – Dennis (Irene) O’Brien of Chandler, AZ, Michael (Annette) O’Brien of St. Joseph, Kelly H.B. O’Brien of South Haven and Washington (Susie) O’Brien, Jr. of South Haven; Nieces – Aubrey Dibble and Emily O’Brien; nephews – Stacy, Ryan, Tim, and Jeremy O’Brien; special great niece – Jada Dibble.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Al-Van Humane Society, 73303 8th Ave, South Haven, MI 49090.
