Steven's Obituary
Steven Duane Barber, 66, of South Haven, passed away Monday, Octobr 5, 2015 at his home under Hospice care. He was born December 6, 1948 to Gordon and Mary (Godsave) Barber in South Haven. He graduated from South Haven High School. Steven later served his country during the Vietnam War. When he was younger, Steven loved fishing. Steven loved movies and music, especially The Rolling Stones. Steven loved watching sports, especially football. He was a full Michigan fan. Steven’s favorite meal was Burger King Whoppers with his onion rings. He was a member of South Haven’s Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by his son – Jason Barber, daughter – Lisa Barber, and brother – Chuck Barber.
Steven is survived by his children – Steven (Michelle) Barber of Banning, California, Patricia (Rick) Blair of South Haven, Mary Barber of South Haven, William Mayfield of Eugene, Oregon, and Michael Mayfield; brother – Joe Barber of South Haven; former spouses -Sylvia Madsen Barber and Brenda Kay Barber. 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Steven will be laid to rest with his son Jason at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township at a later date.
