Vesta Yvonne Rehkopf

Vesta Yvonne Rehkopf, 87, of Glenn, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born July 26, 1928 to Ernest and Nellie Draper in Muskegon. Vesta graduated from Luther High School. Vesta and Miles met on April 2, 1946 and married two months later on June 2 in Luther, Michigan. Their love never faltered and now they are reunited in death. Vesta worked for Consumers Power in the Fennville Office as well as Bohn Aluminum. She was a member of the Glenn United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star of Evert, Michigan.

She is preceded in death by her husband – Miles R. Rehkopf, daughter-in-law – Millyann Rehkopf, and her six brothers and sisters and a half-brother.

Vesta is survived by her children – Myles (Sally) Rehkopf of Glenn and Yvonne (Ken) Grimes of Woodbury, Tennessee, three grandchildren survive – Mathew (Jacquie) Rehkopf, Glenn (Amy) Grimes, and David (Nicole) Grimes, and half-sister – Barbara Deloach of Florida. Eight great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Glenn United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev Harold F. Filbrandt officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vesta’s memory to the Glenn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 46, Glenn, Michigan 49416. Vesta will be laid to rest in Taylor Cemetery in Ganges Township.
