I have known jim as long as i can remember. Same h.s. class. I had the pleasure of working with jim at palisades for many yrs. Always a pleasure to work with him..and he always did what he said he would do. Made our jobs easier. Also bought my 1st c.b. radio from him when he had his store in town. Sorry that i had lost touch with him in recent yrs. Our deepest condolences to his family at this difficult time. Marty Pfaff

I had no idea. I am so sorry to hear this news. I am not surprised at his courage and families unwavering devotion. Growing up with the Lewis family was a wonderful gift. We explored the ravines, jumped in piles of leaves together and played ball in the park until dark. Mr and Mrs Lewis always opened their door to us with a smile. I am so grateful to have grown up with them. My love you you all.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Jim in the early 80's. We went scuba diving just after ice off in Lake Michigan. Jim had just gotten a full face mask and was chomping at the bit to try it out. Not everything went as planned that day, but it's a day I'll never forget. Thanks for the pointers Jim!

Dear Lewis Family, it is with a heavy heart that I write this note! I have had the pleasure spending time with Jim since Grade school! I always admired and looked up to him! He was such a talented person and he could do anything!. I loved our time skiing at Timber Ridge and in Colorado during our late teens and early 20's. H patiently tried teaching me to sail(I am not a good student) and to scuba dive. Everyone that met him were touched by him! Sincerely, Harold Neal

Dear Aunt Lori, Rick, and Lisa, I am so saddened at Jim's passing, the struggles he had, and my lack of reaching out to him. I didn't realize some of the impressive things Jim could do; computers, sailing, etc. and I remember listening to his conversations on his ham radio. My heart reaches out to you all at this time. I wish we could be there, but know our hearts are with you. Aunt Lori, I know you wouldn't have had it any other way than Jim living with you these last years. Now that Jim is resting it is your turn, not that you would choose to loose him, but that in your love and devotion to him you know you can rest knowing you did all you could for Jim. I hope you can find some solace in this situation. We love you very much and will be stopping on our return. Dave and Judy

Jim ( Blue Devil ) played such a B.I.G. part in the encouragement of things in my life & how looked at it & will always flow with that through the remainder of my life . So glad he was a pioneer in showing that cannabis can play such a part in the medical field !!

Dear Lorie, Lisa, Rick and the entire Lewis family, I was saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Lisa's research and action with the cannibas pain relief for him was very commendable. What a golden gift to give to your brother. Lorie, my Mom played bridge with you many years. My parents were great friends of you allm, for that matter our whole families were friends and remain that way. Jim did my senior pictures for me, with my kitty, when I graduated from High School. RIP my friend. You are in heaven, out of pain. May the family know that you are being prayed for and that God is holding you all in His loving arms.

I did not know Jim, but am so moved by the story of him and your family. This level of care is rare and you deserve to feel great comfort. You were faced with such a difficult task and rose to meet it. I am sending you strength and peace. I hope that beyond your grief you find a way to enjoy life in a new ways now that your service is over.

Our prayers are with all of the Lewis family. It was a shock to hear of Jim’s passing. I had lost track of Jim in the many years since High School. But the memories of Trombone section in band, chatting on the CB, diving for a lost boat canopy in the mouth of the harbor, the last sail of the season and working at Lewis Electronics are still there. Rest in peace “Blue Devil”, “DJC”

To Jim's family, It was always a positive experience to get Jim's help at Palisades, and he was always willing to help, which made it very easy to go to him with a problem that you knew he could help solve. He was the second Jim Lewis most of us knew a Palisades, the other being a former plant manager. Both were exceptional people.

I haven't seen Jim since high school as we were team mates on our local tennis team. I quickly came to appreciate Jim's casual disposition & always looked forward to our conversations and time spent around the courts. A meaningful time for me because you were a part of it. My whole heart & sincerest thoughts are with Jim's family and all who were so deeply touched by his passing.
