Dear Mezak Family, We were so sorry to hear of your father's passing away. My realationship and friendship with your family goes way back to when you mother was alive in her rocking bed. I have very fond memories of both of your parents, and of your whole family. Your dad was always so happy to see me and always had a terrific smile on his face when he saw me. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts and prayers to your family. Much love and great memories also. May the good Lord wrap his loving arms around you and give you peace and comfort.

Carol, Jake & Dan and families we are so sorry! We were all lucky to grow up and see what true sacrifice & love Uncle Dan showed throughout his life. Not only to your Mom and family but also to all that were fortunate enough to know him! What fun we had over the years, he will be truly missed. May you all find comfort knowing he is at peace with your Mom and the rest of our extended family watching down over all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! If you need anything just let us know. We love you!

Carol, Jake & Dan - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss; I worked at S. E. Overton Company as Frank & Dan's Secretary for nearly ten years; periodically, I would see your Dad at Big Boy having breakfast with the guys; after I introduced myself to him, he still remembered me and we spoke about the good ole days. Blessings to all of you at his difficult time.

The way Dan took care of our dear sister Katie was an inspiration to all who knew them. Such courage, devotion, and love for each other. After doing everything for Katie for all those years, he was devastated when she passed away because he had lost his soul mate. I will never forget that.

Mr. Mezak was nothing short of a Saint ! When Katey came down with polio, he spent the rest of her life caring for her. Total unselfishness....and he always had a smile, and kind word. Can't think of anyone made in God's image more than him. The entire neighborhood and city marveled at what an amazing man he was. My heart goes out to his entire family...and what a wonderful dad he was.

My condolences to the Mezak family for their loss of a man for whom I worked and had the privilege of knowing prior to my leaving South Haven for Vietnam. His guidance while working at his lake-front properties or the short stint at Overton's stayed with me forever. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for what he taught me in life's many lessons. I remember this great man and always will. Dan Anderson-Arlington Heights, IL.

Dan was a unique man. I remember the beautiful garden he created for Katie to view from her bed. Grandpa Kinney called it The Chinaman's Grave. I also remember how he outfitted a rv so they could leave the house. I hope the good memories comfort you all now.
