Mary, So sorry to hear about Glenn. I always had the greatest respect for him. I remember all those Warren Woodside banquets we attended. He was one a kind. I love that a Pietenpol scholarship has been set up. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Mary and family, I am very sorry for your loss. I celebrate his Homegoing but grieve the fact that I won't share lunch with him anymore. He was very generous both to his community and to me professionally. I valued his opinions. God bless you Mary as you navigate this journey...

To Mary and family - Shirley and I are grieving with you in this deep loss. May the Holy Spirit comfort and strengthen each of you as life takes on different direction and focus with Glenn's going home. It reminds each of us to be in readiness for our own homecoming. May The Word minister comfort, encouragement and peace to each of you in the days ahead.

We had great times with Glenn and Mary especially our recent trip to Branson. Glenn was a special friend we’ll remember him for his kindness, humor and patience, we’ll for sure his kindness and humor. I’ll miss the calls day and night making sure I was watching his second favorite team beating my Wolverines. Mr P you will be missed but our memories will live on.

We were saddened by the news of Glenn's passing. Glenn was a friend to many, and someone you were always happy to run into. We shared interest I Notre Dame football and many other topics. Our condolence to Mary and family. Glenn was every inch a gentleman, and friends and associates were a bit better people because of him. He will be missed.

We remember pancakes, talk of Notre Dame, the boys sports at MHS and FBC. A caring gentleman that showed such joy in life. Our regret is in not spending more time with Glenn and his family over these years. Blessings and peace.

I am so sad to hear of Glenn's passing. He was a wonderful godparent to me and a treasured part of my childhood. Mary - without any extended family in Midland while I was growing up, I really did feel that you and Glenn were my family. I always looked forward to being in your home. I don't know how Glenn actually felt about the rest of your students, but he made me feel so particularly special by the way he would show up "for me" at every piano recital. It mean so much to me that you two made the trek to my wedding in 2012. Glenn's warmth and kind spirit will be missed in this world. Sending you and the family love, Mary. May you find peace even in this time of mourning.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Glenn's passing. I was not aware that he'd been ill for the last two years which only makes me wish I had kept in better contact. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Glenn for several years. For those who never had that opportunity, they could not know what an outstanding manager he was. Glenn had a unique gift: as a manager, he was both well respected and well liked. This is rare in that it seems manager's have to be one or the other. He was well respected because of his knowledge, his work ethic and his insistence on always taking the high road and doing what's right. He was well liked because he was always fair, inspiring, had his colleagues best interest in mind and always cared and encouraged his people to do their best. He made it easy to come to work. He set a high bar as a husband, father and friend. His family was always his priority, and his work and service in the communities he lived, always appreciated his help and dedication. There is no doubt this world is a better place because Glenn was part of it. He will be greatly missed. I have grieved for the Pietenpol family before, and I grieve for them again.

On behalf of Hope Reformed Church, as her current Senior Pastor, we would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Pietenpol family. It has been shared with me that for many years your family was a part of ours, and so at this time we both thank you for those years and pray God's presence, strength, comfort and blessing in these days.

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Pietenpol's passing. I was so happy he came to the Sparta Class of 1968 50th reunion in August 2018. I had Mr. Pietenpol as my teacher in chemistry and algebra. He started teaching at Sparta my freshman year. He was one of my favorite teachers. I probably wasn't one of his favorite students, as I remember numerous occasions where I frustrated him! I remember riding on buses to athletic events where he was a chaperone. He taught us many folk songs during the trips. Mary, speaking for many of my classmates, we're so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful man

This is so sad. Mr. Pietenpol was one of my favorite teachers. He was the person who encouraged me to attend Hope College . . . a decision that changed everything for me. He is gone too soon. I am sorry for your loss.
