Charles's Obituary
Charles Merriweather, 71, of South Haven, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Wild Wood West Assisted Living in Grand Rapids. He was born January 6, 1948 to Granville Sr. and Elnora (Hardy) Merriweather in Chicago, Illinois. Charles loved music and enjoyed singing. He also enjoyed building things.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother – Samuel Merriweather.
Charles is survived by his children – Dekodey M. Merriweather of South Haven and Charles (Brittaney) Merriweather, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, siblings – Julia Ampey of Gobles, Granville Merriweather, Jr. of Kalamazoo, Janice Merriweather of St. Joseph, Mable Merriweather of Ann Arbor, George Merriweather of Nicholson, Georgia, Gertrude Brown of Bangor, Jeanette Merriweather-Shane of Belleville, Michigan, and Minnie Merriweather of South Haven, and three grandchildren – Mia, Trenton, and Kali.
Wake will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the wake at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ralph Cunningham officiating at the funeral home. Charles will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
