To Mary Jane's family --- May peace and comfort be yours for all the Grace you shared with the South Haven community. I did not know Mary Jane personally, but I have such good feelings toward the Cousins' family. Joe Canonie was my Uncle. For years he lived with the love of his life, Peggy. They grew to be a ripe old age and would eat almost daily at your family restaurant. When Joe and Peggy did not show up, someone from your establishment would call them to make sure they were ok. And if they were sick, someone would deliver them a meal. I will never forget that kindness. God bless you.

Hal, Shawna, James and family,
I remember when my mom worked as a cook back in the day (Rose Dulik). I would come in after her shift as I waddled in as I was pregnant with twins. When I gave birth I would bring them in their car carriers to the restaurant and Mary would say "oh look its the munchkins"! As the years went by we would still go in and have breakfast or lunch or dinner depending on the mood. And each time Mary was always there with her warm smile and wonderful conversation. She had such a beautiful smile and wonderful soul. She was one in a million. Sending my condolences to you all. May God wrap is loving arms around each of you during this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I saw this news on Facebook, and am very surprised and sad. My family moved to South Haven four years ago. The first morning we moved in, we were not up and running yet with groceries and the kitchen. We went down the street to Cousin's. Mary heard of our news and we made the connection about moving from Chicago suburbs. She then comp'ed our entire meal! For our family of 5! And simply said, "Welcome to South Haven." My best memory of moving here and frist interactions with the people of this town. Mary made our first day memorable and so very special. Rest in peace, dear Mary.
