Dan and family...our hearts and prayers go out to the Thompson Family on Missy's passing. The way too few times we met over the years were always times of laughter, warmth and charm. She will be missed but the wonderful memories will hopefully ease that sense of loss. Sincerely, Mark & Kathy Lamboni

I remember visiting Dan and Missy's home in Livermore when Greg and Julia were visiting. That night Missy prepared for each us a generously butter-basted steak. I remember thinking "Wow, steak for dinner!", something I've only had at fancy steakhouses up until that time. I left that visit, confirmed of the Midwesterner's archetype of being friendly and alarmingly nice, and feeling full. Full from the steaks but also full from a sense of belonging, which I completely attribute to Missy's smile and her touch of warmth and welcomeness. Missy will be missed. I am very sorry for the family's loss. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

The last time I saw Missy was in early March when the Thompson brood descended on Washington, DC for the christening of Naveen, the son of Andrew and Hima. After the ceremony, family and friends broke bread at the Georgetown Waterfront where we all enjoyed an incredible brunch and even better company. It was a memorable occasion, in particular because I felt like a part of the Thompson family that day. Missy was a big reason I felt like that. Her warm, kind disposition, sweet grin, and affection for family and friends were so palpable, even from the briefest of interactions, that you couldn't help but let it bring a smile to your face. My heart goes out to everyone, of course the Thompson family in particular, who shares in the of loss of Missy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all...
