Reverend Father John's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Reverend Father John here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Father John was a true servant of our Lord. As a man, he loved God and all of His creation. Father John was an echumenical man even though he was a Catholic priest. Father John also had gentle, Jesus like hands and served so many people at many times including picking up the basin and the towel to wash the feet of others at the Mass on Holy Thursdays. He loved the St. Basil School students and teachers and was an awesome teacher and was a very knowledgeable human being. We thank God for the time he placed Father John here on the Earth because he accomplished so much of God's work while he was here with all of us. There's no doubt that many people, families and communities were graced by Father John's words and /or presence. He led us closer to God through his homilies, visits, music, community events, stories, the Sacraments and many celebrations of the Sacrifice of the Mass. All memories now for those us that remain. May we wait in hope, follow Jesus as you did, and be ready to celebrate again with Father John at the great banquet of the Lord. Until then, we will remember what you taught and shared with us! We will never forget you, Father John. Eternal Rest be granted unto him, O God and may perpetual light shine upon him. Mark and Michele Woodhams and family

A gentle and caring man. A helpful.and gracious colleague. Always welcoming of other clergy and willing to participate in ecumenical gatherings. The lunches he hosted for area clergy were warm gatherings. A very smart and insightful man of faith willing to engage in thought provoking discussions. He also.enoy talking about baseball. We remember Fr. John E. Young during his time of service here at St. Monica Parish, Kalamazoo, MI. He was so very thoughtful, spiritually insightful, and had a quiet peace and joy about him. He exemplified Christ in those qualities. We are grateful for his service to God's people here and pray for his wonderful reunion with Christ as "will done faithful servant, now enter into your eternal reward in Heaven. Sincerely, Barbara A. & Victor L. Ceru
