Charlotte's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Charlotte here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
To the survivors of Charlotte our sincere and deepest sympathy. Perhaps you won’t or don’t remember me. I spent a lot of time at your home when your father Hans and I worked together on several projects. My memory of Charlotte was of a very warm and cordial hostess. Although many years have gone by, I will remember her very polite and pleasant ways. So, to you, Thekla, James and your families my sincerest sympathy and may you find comfort and peace knowing that she and Hans are again united. Blessings.

Dear family: My wife and I have known Charlotte (and Hans) since 1984 when we came to Stevensville, where I was privileged to serve at St. Paul's till Feb., 2013. For a time I actually was one of her pastors. Since the time she was at West Woods I saw her each Thursday at our Bible Study/Hymn Study (representing Martin Luther Elder Care Ministries), as faithful caregivers rolled her in week after week. Gale Schleef (piano accompanist) and I greeted her each week along with all the residents attending, but with the special knowledge of her service to the Lord over the years and our common bonds. When she could not see to read the words for the hymn, she sang from memory, and when she could not remember the words she simply sang along with the melody, quite beautifully. In the last few months she grew quiet but the benediction from the Lord was meant for her right along with the rest in attendance. Her solid faith in Jesus was evident ever since I knew her, and now, through Jesus' blood and merits, heaven is her home. Recognize her good examples and find comfort in the knowledge that now she can sing with the angels! Yours in Christ, Retired Pastor Gerald Schroer
