In honor of Chuck, Keith Sliter lit a candle.
Your light shone so bright, that some 40yrs after leaving your classroom, I am still finding my way, even if it is in the hills and hollows of Arkansas. And I am still working with charcoal and pastels as I told you a few years before I moved here that I would be. The world is colder without your physical presence in it, but your spirit flies free, above the ducks you saw such beauty in. Thanks for everything, but especially for believing in me.

I didn't have Mr Murray as a teacher, but his class connected to ours so it seems that he was always present and he knew all of the students and we all knew him. He was a kind and easy going person. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to your family. Rest in peace, Mr Murray.

Mr. Murray was an inspiration and mentor for me and many students. Our artwork was so much alike it was uncanny. My deepest condolences to the Family. Know that his influence on those he met and taught was magical. I am proud to have been his student and friend. BHHS Class of 1972.

Murray you were a dear friend. We go way back to the 70's when I started teaching at BHHS. You were a kind, caring and talented man. You always showed love and compassion to me and my family over the years. I will miss you my friend.
May God hold you in his loving arms.
Our deepest sympathy to your family.

I had the honor of working with Chuck for the past 10 years at Whirlpool where he was always smiling and enjoying life. I learned of his artistic skill when he donated a pencil drawing for a charity fundraiser and was thrilled when I was able to acquire it. It will continue to hang in my home as a reminder of his gentle soul. I will truly miss him....

Chuck Murray was a rare bird. His classes were always engaging because he cared about teaching. He cared about his students. He made a difference in my life at a time when I didn't know who I was entirely. (the definition of teenager). I'm very thankful that he was my teacher, that I was lucky enough to be his student.

To Chuck's family - I want you to know what a great teacher, mentor and person he was! He was well liked by all who attended his classes. I had many opportunities to run into him after I left high school - always so fun to catch up with him! Murray will be greatly missed. My sympathy is with you.
Murray - I will always look up to you - just a little higher now – forever smiling, cracking jokes and creating beauty! Rest peacefully - I'll try to bring you breakfast next time we meet!

Mr. Murray. In 1971 you and others changed my view on teachers and their role. As a result, I became a teacher and retired in 2016 after 39 years. This was in large part to your role modelship as a great person and teacher.

In honor of Chuck, Shelley Ives-Toffelmire lit a candle.
Mr. Murray was my teacher in 1974-1975. He was a amazing person as well as a teacher. He really cared about his students. One of my best memories of him was when my father was ill and he sat and talked to me for at least an hour. He always had a way to make you feel better. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family.
