We were very saddened to hear of Lee's passing. Scott enjoyed talking to him about his many fishing and hunting travels and I looked forward to seeing him at the nursing home. It was an honor and pleasure to know him. He will be missed by many. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. He has "gone fishing"!

Dear Mae, I remember my husband, John Robinson, saying so often what a wonderful man Leon was and what a great job he did at the school. When he retired, I think they had a very hard time replacing him. You and your wonderful family are in my prayers. God bless all of you. I miss all of you South Haven people. Sorry to hear about Lee, my favorite uncle. Recall many good times; fishing the lake, hunting for deer, opening the school gym for evening basketball, playing wiffle ball at the farm, showing family slide shows at the Wagner reunions, grilling sweet potatoes, sharing his fantastic homemade wine, and more. Lee introduced enjoyment with things to do, eat, and drink and I enjoyed listening to his United States Navy service stories. Great to see him at the Legion, August 12th, starring out at the lake and enjoying the view, looking alert and talking about a boat coming in. Now, in the light, with fair winds and following waves, Lee is above board and fishing through school after school. Lee was a good man, the very best of men, and my prayers are with him and his loving family.

Having the joy of his presence at family functions over the last 34 years was always a pleasant and enjoyable experience and we both will miss him. We both liked and loved him from the first meeting. Hearts out to Mae and the Stienmiller family. Our personal pain is felt for our Brother in law David, one of the finest people we know and a fine example of the man his father was. We love you David.

Dear Mae & family: A true loss in our circle of family friends. It was appropriate that our gathering on Labor Day included Leon, this last time this year... Many years he threw 'shoes or cooked great boiled fish. I am sorry for your sadness at his passing now. I am out of town and unable to attend the services. I'll miss him waving to me at the corner where he dropped off Mae so many Sundays at St. Basil. May he rest in peace.

Leon was a wonderful person to have had the pleasure to know. I always saw him at school, as I grew up and attended South Haven schools. The Steinmiller family, and their extended families were patients in my Dad's dental practice. All of them were so very pleasant. Leon will be missed, and remembered fondly by many. He always had a friendly smile for everyone.
