Kim & Andrea.. I'm sooo sorry to hear about your dad. I'll never forget him. I was just telling my 11 year old a few months ago how much I enjoyed his typing class when I was in 8th grade. What a wonderful wonderful man! I love the sticker on his jeep & told him so whenever I saw him! He will be greatly missed! I love his obituary!!! What a awesome thing! Even though I'm really sad to see it, I laughed when I read it! Our thoughts & prayers are with your family. (And I only made 5 typing errors while typing this!! :) )

Kim, I am sorry for your loss--your dad was a good man and I still remember taking Business Principles from him. That was, gulp, 25 years ago and I still remember his quotes. Not sure who wrote his obituary but it rings of him and made me smile. Here's to you Mr. Murphy.

Kim and Andrea. I can't remember a time talking to your dad that I didn't walk away laughing and smiling. What a great sense of humor and outlook on life. Howard made the world a better place. He certainly enriched my life. And there are generations of students that have lived richer lives from knowing Howard. Peace.

Girls- Your dad was one of the first people that I met when we moved to South Haven in 1975. He was my 'Careers' Classroom teacher and taught me how to apply for a job, balance a check book and dream about a lifelong goal of providing healing care to the needy. Because of your dad, I am a registered nurse and am able to both usher life in and ease it out of this wonderful world. Your father was truly an inspiration and those who knew him were, well, we were "lucky enough". Know that you both are in my thoughts- Wish I could hear you tell the story of the 'univited guest'. I just found out of the passing of Mr. Murphy. I was in Mr. Murphy's class during 8th grade. He was also our chess club coach, a game I STILL enjoy today. He was way cool, and I still remember being in his class and him calling me out, to "re-orient myself. I learned a lot from him, and during my time in his class, He made an impression on me...all positive. I am sorry for your loss, but he is one of the reasons I have worked in a school now for over 25 years. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Leroy Green
