Martha was one of the nicest ladies I've had the pleasure to know. During challenging times in my life there was encouragement from her. What a wonderful legacy to leave to us all. Even though your family is fewer in numbers you are all stronger through having John and Martha as your parents. I'll never forget them.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of John and Martha Schnake. I had the honor of serving as their pastor for more than 30 years. They were very faithful and confessing Christians. They served the Lord and St. Paul Lutheran Church in several ways. John was a church officer for many years and Martha was our "runner" secretary who provided many selfless services to the congregation. They helped me by running off our church bulletin each week for about 25 years.

I was a high school classmate and friend of John and Marths'a son Richard before his death so many years ago. Many fond memories of spirited basketball games in the barn and what nice people the Schnakes were. My condolences to the family.
