We enjoyed so much going to see Laverne,( for many months) and she enjoyed Bars...she had treats for him every time we came...She called him " SWEETHEART".The last visit she would not wake up when Bars nudged her hand so he got up next to her bed and barked loudly so she would know he was there..she opened her eyes and smiled and said " I know"..Our hearts go out to your family...We will miss her a lot.Our hearts are heavy today...Judi Ison and Bars

So sorry for the passing of LaVerne, she was always such an animal loving human being. I knew LaVerne from Al-Van Humane Society she would always come to my rescue when an animal was in need of that extra special loving care. Tawny her dog was one of those special needs animals. LaVerne nursed her back to health from near death and gave her many years of love along with a very comfortable life. LaVerne will be greatly missed.

Dear Larry, Karen, Kathleen, Tom & Margaret (and families), I am thinking of you and praying that your feelings of loss will soon be replaced with loving memories of your mom. That is such a great picture of her. She was one of the kindest people that I have ever met and I loved to hear her laugh! My life is better because she was in it! I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have so many great memories of her and the years I worked at GTE with her. All the times I came home to visit and always would spend time catching up with her. She always had a smile and laugh. We were blessed to have her as our friend. Will be praying for the family.

My condolences to all of Laverne's family. I first met Laverne when we both worked at the telephone company. I also knew her well through the animal shelter. As a mutual friend once said, "her dogs and cats will eat even if she has to go without." She was a one-person animal rescue and I am sure touched many lives, for the better, through those activities.

My heart goes to all LaVernes family and friends. She always had a kind & bright smile at Al-Van fund-raisers & meetings as far back as I remember. She served on the board and suported animals & people through her kindness. I know as she worked a D&W she always used her voice to educate people about pets. I am thankful to have known her.

To all of the family I send love and prayers. I have many fond memories of "Grandma Adams". She was always so sweet and caring to me. I remember playing card and board games with her and how she would always have stories to share and a great love for her family and animals. She is missed! May all of you be comforted with knowing that she is at peace in heaven. God Bless!!!

Margaret & Family: May the God of comfort you during these sad times. Remember the the Scripture at Revelation 21:3, 4: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Ty Wallace
