Sandy & Wayne, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I worked with Irene for 20yrs & my husband Terry worked with her for over 10yrs at Scott. She was so much fun to be around & her jokes were something you never got tired of hearing. I'am so glad that I got to see her when I was home in June. We had alot of great times when our little group would get togther & go out to eat or have a cookout. She will truly be missed!!!

What a great lady your Mom was! So much fun working with her at Scott Aviation. Her laugh made the long work day so much shorter. Now all the Angels in Heaven will enjoy what we will all miss.

Wayne & Sandy: Irene was such a pleasant lady. I enjoyed working with her and your Dad at Scott Aviation. She will be truly missed. We all look forward to the time when sad times such as these will be a thing of the past. Revelation 21:3-5 points to that time: " With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” Until that time may you have the comfort needed to help you through this time of sorrow. Ty Wallace

Sandy & Wayne and the rest of the family...We are still in shock, even though we knew "someday" but this is way to early. Auntie Irene was the glue that held our families together. Strong, not afraid to tell you her opinion. She has a way with everyone and she surely will be missed. Even though our Generation took over Thanksgiving, it will NEVER be the same without her. She will always have a spot in my heart for her. So many memories...ones I'll never forget. With all of our love, Deb & Dennisremain in wouldn't let many take advantage of her.

Sandy and Wayne , please know your mother touched so many lives . I worked with her at Scott ATO for a lot of years , she was a great help to me both there and when my husband passed away . I will miss just knowing she is not there any more, but also relieved that she is out of her pain and suffering and in a better place. Hearing about her passing has brought back so many memories of my life in So. Haven . God Bless your families.

A great woman, Irene lives in the hearts she left behind. Remembering Irene, are good memories of so many things. Blue Berry picking with Aunt Irene was challenging and fun. One day while we were all picking at the farm, a front of tornado squalls came racing in low from the lake, and there was no time to go anywhere but to the small sorting shed for some 20 of us. With the wind and rain beating and shaking the shed, we were nervous and anxiety started to set in, until Irene stepped up and told us to stay and started us to singing some song/rhyme to get us though that storm. Awesome bowler and team player, remember watching Irene bowl and seeing her name on the Melody Lanes wall of fame. Very perceptive and out-going, she could sense when you’re down and pick things up to brighten your day and likewise she would dress you down when you’re out-of-line. During one Navy leave in town, she loaned me her car and was disappointed that I didn’t keep the car longer than four days. To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die. Love you Aunt Irene you’re my hero, Pat

Sandy, Wayne & families: I just stopped by Apple to leave books and saw the message regarding Irene. Then, I checked online at 12:45 p.m. and just discovered that I missed all of the arrangements. Please....accept mine and Pete's deepest sympathies regarding your loss. I loved Irene. I have personally known her since Sandy and I were best friends in high school. If there is anything that I can do...please call. Again, I am so sorry that I missed all of the arrangements, but I did not know anything! Our thoughts are with you always. It is tough to lose "Mom".

Dear Sandy and Family, So sorry to read about your Mom in the Tribune this AM. Bob and I were at mass last Sunday, but didn't recognize her name...I just remember her as your Mom...and that she always seemed so sweet. Sometimes you can just tell you'd like someone if you knew them better! I DID try to go to the visitation TODAY (25th, like the Trib reported), so know that you're being thought of as you try to get through this sad time. Much love and prayers go out to you and your family. Mary and Bob Hoppes
